Ridgeway Clocks
Ridgeway brand of clocks are well-respected the world over because of their amazing quality. A family-owned company, it continues to lead the industry in craftsmanship.
The History of Ridgeway
Gravely Furniture produced fine clocks. The company was created in 1955 by a man named Richard Pleasants Gravely. Gravely Furniture was later purchased by Pulaski Furniture, now esteemed as the Ridgeway Clock Company. The company remains where it was born, in Ridgeway, Virginia.
Solid Construction
Ridgeway goes the extra mile to produce the highest-quality products. The access doors are by far the most frequently handled portion of any clock that requires weekly winding. Therefore, the access doors of a Ridgeway clock do not have added joints and pieces; Ridgeway clock crafters know that the strongest possible door arch is constructed using a solid piece. In addition, all of Ridgeway’s original turnings are fused to the case using glue and screws. Also, instead of using wooden dowels for all joints, Ridgeway clocks uses glue, plus miters made from metal, to permanently connect bases and crowns to the clock cabinets. As for the timepiece itself, a Ridgeway clock contains only the highest-quality mechanism, crafted in Germany.
Beauty
The Ridgeway Clock Company creates its beautiful clock cabinets with genuine hardwood. The finest oak, poplar, maple, and cherry hardwoods go into Ridgeway clocks. To ensure a finished product that is a pleasure to the touch and a delight to the eye, the cabinets are sanded by hand. Then the hardwood surface is stained, sealed and sanded again. The finishing touch is multiple lacquer glazing, paying special attention to the wood’s grain, to reach the Ridgeway level of perfection.
If you want to enrich your home for generations to come with something supremely crafted and founded on a tradition of quality, you will want to acquire a genuine Ridgeway clock. |
